I took out a payday loan with payday uk in November but i since lost my job therefore have been unable to pay . I get phone calls everyday from them several times a day . I have made a payment plan with them of £50 per week to clear my £400 rising debt but i cant afford £50 a week .
Anyway i got a text from them yesterday saying they can offer me a settlement figure if i call . They offered me to pay £350 to clear the debt then it came down to £300 to clear debt .
I havent got £300 yet as im not working but my question is if i get another job soon is this deal real ? or do you think i could get it lower .
I am abit wary of paying them £300 then 6 months down the line they want the rest . I am very wary because i have only defaulted for 3 months it seems very early for them to be offering me a settlement figure
Has anyone else manage a full & final early settlement with a payday loan company ?

Hi Susieanne,
There's a charity called Step Change Debt Charity which will give you FREE help and advice. They are very good. Somewhere on MSE they have a page of their own. Worth taking a look. Hope this helps.Good luck.:)0 -

Hi. Did I do something wrong? Just seen the messages about spam. I'm quite new here but no way would I purposely post something I shouldn't. I was trying to help Susieanne and I know the charity I mentioned is genuine. I apologize if I have made a mistake. Hope someone will let me know.:(0

I would also like to know as stepchange (formerly CCCS) come highly recommended as a non-fee charging debt charity.0 -
Don't worry about it. You can recommend the free charities.
Someone will have posted details for a private company who charge though. These posts are removed when people report them as spam.As my Mum always said "Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves"0 -
