Are we sure they're pineapples though, and not grapefruits with a tree stuck on the top?

Watch out at the till though. I bought one on Monday and only realised after I'd got home that I'd been charged for the large pineapple at £1.

Which is still a good price for a large pineapple, and what I have been paying in Lidl for months.

I checked this morning and the pineapples in Morrisons are slightly bigger than those in Aldi so being cheaper as well swings it for Morrisons.

I got one of the Aldi ones today at 59p. Enormous and it's a Fyffes Gold Super Sweet one at that! Bargain!

I normally cut off the top and bottom then slice off the skin all round, I then quarter the pineapple through the core and slice off the parts of the core from each quarter and dice the flesh of the fruit that remains,

I did get a pineapple corer but it was plastic and too flimsy, I will need to look out for a steel one.

I got one at Morrisons yesterday also while there I looked at the meat counter and there was a sign saying Topside at £3.40 a kilo.So I thought great I'll have some of that. When I asked the butcher he insisted it was £7.00 a kilo and it had been priced wrong. After a discussion I said ok I won't bother.Walking around I kept thinking well if its priced wrong its not my fault When I went to pay at the checkout the young lass said tell them at CS so off I went and told my tale and the manager there was very helpful and I ended up with three joints of topside for £10.00 virtually half price ,so they have gone into my DDs freezer I feel that just by being polite and standing my ground I have won a small victory. The sign was written in 5" high letters on the counter and when I asked the butcher if anyone else has spotted it he said no I was the only one The pine apple is delicious by the way.First time I have shopped in there as its not the closest to where I live
DD has got us 2 tickets for Robbie at Wembley this year
Just spoke to her , she has also managed to get two tickets for us to see Blood Brothers at Dartford in November
£60.00 for the food purse this month. 23rd May spent £43.75 balance £16.25

Thanks for this one savethepandas. I don't usually go to morrisons as it is not local to me but yesterday I was passing so popped in a got two pineapples. Also very good value in morrisons compared to garden centre passion flowers at £2. These are much more expensive in the garden centres and are very easy to grow - great climbing plants and very exotic looking for £2!
