Hi,

local Tesco setting out mountains of tins of Quality Street this morning, reduced from £5 to £4, only 'till Thursday.

Stock up for Christmas.

Official MoneySavingExpert insert: Tesco hasn't been able to confirm the details of this offer, but it says on its website that the offer will be on until Thu 4 Oct 2012, subject to availability.

Delivery starts at £2.50, so it’s best to shop in-store unless you’re buying groceries online anyway. If your local Tesco's sold out, the next cheapest you can buy tins of seasonal confectionery is £5 at Morrisons.

Thanks to frugalmacdugal for sharing this offer.

I bought 6 over the weekend for christmas presents. There were only Heroes, Quality Street and Roses left. Celebrations were also included in the offer but according to a staff member, a customer had been in and purchased 1,000 tubs of Celebrations and wiped them out of those.

Easy grand in profit if sold for £5 which is achieveable, or could be for gifts or prizes etc, might be cheaper than wholesale even.

I thought you were only allowed so many per customer?

I think it depends on who the manager is, some will let you have unlimited quantities, it helps them achieve their weekly sales targets. i think availablity of special offers is appalling at tescos anyway, they only ever have half of the special offers on the shelf whenever i shop there.

  • they are 5.35 at the cash carry but you also have to add vat so they are selling below cash carry prices no wonder small shops are dying
  • Or you can buy them in asda £5 - price match with tescos and get another 10% on top making them £3.60 - they dont all compare though - check on mysupermarket first, sorry cant remember off the top of my head which ones compare and which dont.
The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow, For children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.

  • I reckon these are slightly smaller tins than last year. Still good value but I thought it wise to let you know.
