Can I just say I used these too and found them a nightmare!

If you are thinking of reuseable nappies, wait until baby is born. What fits one baby and works with them doesn't work for another. Bambino Mio were rubbish on my thin legged, thin waisted boy.

If you've tried and liked these, then buy, but please have a fitting of a Bambino Mio at a Nappichino or with a local nappy seller before shelling out £100 on them.

How do they work? Are they a one size fits all or do they do different sizes?

How does the price compare with disposables i.e. for nappy liners, sanitizer etc?

he had reusables used on him as a child

but he says lots of rude and horrible things about them

i wonder how often he will be changing any nappies, so would he even notice? lol

reusables have changed alot since we were kids, personally i'd just buy them once they're there he'll come round and use them if he has no choice.

i used some of these, among others weren't my fav (beleive it or not my fav were ebay cheapy pockets) there different sizes, you don't need sanitizer because you can dry bale them, you can also make your own reusable liners from fleece which is very cheap ( or you can get flushable ones for about £5 a huge roll) these covers last til about 6 months, you can use the nappies after that in bigger wraps for while longer.

I have some prefolds and wraps, essentially what Bambino Mio are, which is the cheapest form of reusable - as opposed to say all-in-ones. I lucked out and got a birth to potty set on ebay for £27 HOWEVER what was attractive about the set was that the seller had built up a selection of different wraps - the bit that goes over the folded cotton pad - so if my baby doesn't like one type and it leaks, I have another wrap to try. I'd agree, don't buy a birth to potty set from one manufacturer as their effectiveness varies from baby to baby.

That said, there's nothing stopping you buying this set and finding some different wraps on ebay to compare. But if you see the price I paid, you can do this cheaper via ebay.

The cost comparison for disposable versus reusable can be found here: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/cheap-nappies#savings obviously, if you buy a secondhand set the costs come down even more.

I used pre-folds on my son when he was newborn and got on really well with them. As he got older I used them in a pocket nappy, so if they dont work on their own there are alternatives without having wasted your money.

As many others have said though it is worthwhile waiting until baby is born so you can try the nappies out and see if they work for you.

I used to be a nappy advisor and tried lots of different nappies over the course of my sons nappy wearing time!!

Its also worthwhile contacting your council/local NCT group and some areas even have a cloth nappy network where you can borrow a set of nappies.

Have a look at http://www.goreal.org.uk/ there is a wealth of information on there.
  • Tesco were doing tots bots birth to potty reusables for £7.49 (half price) and they are way way better than the bambino mios.

I've had Mio with two babies but find the eBay pocket cheapies much better, and I love different colours/patterns etc

If you're near a Boots some of them had the packs in the OP on clearance at £11.66. This was a couple of weeks ago now though.
