YHA Membership for £5 for a year(usually £15.95)

This might be one for Martin's Money Tips!:money:

If you ring them to set up to pay for your membership by direct debit before the 31st August 2011 then you get your first year(this year)for £5,you can simply ring up before it runs out to cancel the money automatically coming out the next year(I checked on the phone)

Also available is joint membership for £10 which is usually £22.95.I had a quick look for a link but couldn't find one,you can ring them on 0800 0191 700 or 01629 592 700 to take out this offer.

As I am already a member I received a card reminding me I was due to renew my membership with this special offer advertised on it but I asked if anyone can take this out and was told yes they can and that they don't have to be renewing their membership like I was.

I am a big fan of the YHA ,you can stay in some wonderful places.
Also your membership card entitles you to loads of money off such as 10% off at Millets,15% off anything from 'New Balance' money off Blacks Camping gear, money off things like car parking and travel, money off music, reduced entry to attractions, money off travel insurance and loads of other stuff, have a look at the YHA website to see what these are.
:A
It might be worth being a member purely for the discounts you receive
:A

Might be a good idea to double check everything if you phone up as I am just going by what I was told by one person.

  • Even more MSE: you no longer have to be a member of YHA (youth hostel association) to be able to book / stay in hostels!
  • You don't have to be a member to book a room at YHA but you pay less with your membership card, usually £3 per night less, which can add up to quite a lot.

I have seen that this code was valid for free membership back in 2008 but have not seen anything more recent.

    Hi
Just called for free offer, but you need to quote your Friends and Family Railcard number to be eligable. Thanks any way.

That's great. Does it say you just need to phone up and quote the code or do they need proof that you have a railcard? Thanks

Thanks. I will try for the £5 one, not sure if I need a code for it though.
