Need help with Wedding dress company Tidebuy.com!!!

Hi everyone, I'm just after some advice please as I'm at a total stand still with this!
I bought a Wedding dress from an online company based in China called Tidebuy.com on 28th October 2010. I ordered a size UK16 and the amount was roughly £90 with free shipping.
At first there was a delay in delivery as the company was apparently moving offices. Then there was another delay due to the horrendous snow we all had (no fault of the company I know). Anyway, finaly collected the dress from a Parcelforce depot on 10th December 2010 only to find it measured to a UK size 8 and didn't have the certain detail on it that was advertised.
I then emailed them to tell them this.
They responded to my email on 15th December asking for pictures of the dress along with a measuring tape next to it which I did and sent to them on 19th December. They replied the next day saying they had recieved my email and thats the last I've heard from them
I've now had to go and buy another Wedding dress from a Bridal shop costing hundreds as if I left it any longer I'd have been struggling to get anything in time for my Wedding in July!
I've sent a few emails to them asking for an update but heard zilch. It's not the money really, it's the principal. I paid for an item with my hard earned money and expected to get exactly what I thought I was buying. I just want to return the dress and get a refund...its still in the original packaging as I can't even get it on!!! haha.
Can anyone help me as what I should do from here???

How sad for you....but sadly its a tale that we hear all too often on the forum...
How did you pay for the dress?...when you say the price was roughly £90.00 is it possible it was closer to £100 and paid for by credit card...if thats the case and you paid over £100 by credit card you could claim your money back from them...otherwise there may not be much further you can take this...other than what you have already done....
sometimes these china dresses work out and somtimes they dont....sadly it may just be something you put down to experience......frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -
Thanks LEJC,
No it was more or less £90, definately not over £100. Think you may be right....down to experience and all that. Just so annoyed! Could never do this to anyone. Not everyone is as honest as the next tho i guess. Maybe I'll get a reply soon but I doubting that. Could maybe try and sell on ebay I suppose....I'll see. Thanks for you're reply/advice anyway

Same response as before I 'm afraid.
Problems with the made to measure route is it's your word against theirs when the fit is wrong. They'll say you measured wrong etc etc etc. It's more the hassle of trying to get your money back and I guess to some they can't be bothered with it so the company win.
I've done several made to measure distance sells and I bug the life out of my clients to make sure the measurments are correct and a few weeks before dispatch get them to measure again to see if the measurments are concurrent.
So sad for you sweetheart and hope you dont allow this to ruin your big day. I'm sure the dress you have now is superb!! x0 -
hi linda...my own stupid fault at the end of the day! just so annoyed about the whole thing. its not a huge amount of money but it was my money at the end of the day. lesson learned!! maybe i should have got you to make it in the first place...damnit haha.

never, but never go with this company. It's a totally fail. I have received a very poor item and have wrote them tens of emails with pictures attached, have called them and nothing. There's a !!!!ing Chinese who does not speak english and tells me now (after one month of no answer) that too much time has passed and there is nothing to do. !!!! them.0
