I found this website a long time ago and it's fantastic! They have a large list of free games and they have their own rules which is good:
1) The game must be 100% free, legal and in no need of a purchase
2) The game must not force a user to install any software except for the game itself.
3) The games must be easy to run, off of the first install.
and some of these were at one time proper full games (as in charged at full price such as area 51) So it's definitely worth a look!

Free game this weekend! All you need to do is create an account (which is easy - you don't need to enter any address details or card details) You also have to download a download manager called capsule to be able to download their games through their website
