Pear shaped diamond

I am hoping to get a pear diamond engagemen ring, me and OH have decided i can pick it!

I really really want one-my aunt has one with 1.25ct in hers, but does anyone know of any diamond ring dealers online?

Ive seen one on ebay but am quite sceptical?

Does anyone here have a pear diamond ring/ any downside to having one?

Thanks in advance

I got my pear shaped engagement ring from wedding rings direct last year. We found the picture on another website and they custom made it for a lot less. They now offer the same design on their site http://www.weddingrings-direct.com/show_product/ENG-8712-PE/35/2/3/ No real downsides of having a pear shaped diamond, although I doubt I'll wear it all the time if we have small children, it's a little sharp, but it's never caught on my clothes or anything like that.

careful on eBay. Many sellers will say their diamonds have great spec and then once received you see all the inclusions!!

Are you able to get to Hatton Garden or Birmingham Jewellery Quarter? They are fab places, but more than online, but you can haggle and try before you buy.

I have a 0.9ct ring and the diamond is huge. I don't even have it insured out of the house as I could never wear it it's so massive :( (small fingers) my engagements ring is a 0.5ct and I have a trilogy ring that is 1 x 0.4ct and 2 x 0.3ct which fits perfectly across my finger. So it's all about the size of your fingers, I feel.

Also, with a 1.25ct it's going to be worth quite a lot so you will need to add it as a named item on your home insurance and, most likely, pay an additional premium.

Seeing as their top price section is 'over £200', I doubt it in this case.

    Hiya x

My ring was made by a friend and brilliant jeweller

    www.paulbattes.com

Its worth dropping him an email and asking him to give you a price. I am so pleased with mine and am always getting compliments. I chose a heart shaped pink sapphire and I love it.
