My Rant:Just one weeks footballers wage...
ferry
Well, just thought I'd add a rant for the weekend. After watching Match of the Day it occurred to me that some of the 'talent' on show actually earn around £50k a week!
My first thoughts were ..if I could just be a Premiereship footballer for just a week I could be debt free in 7 days..wow what a thought!!!
Sorry, probably wrong section, but it does make you think ....

i am gonna get this in first before people b1tch!
in my opinion their wages are the correct wages, they are at the top of their profession and only earn the equivalent that a managing director or vvvv high people whatever their profession. People that say they are overpaid are just jealous and they should ask the question...
1) would u say no to being offered the same amount of money for doing ur job?

Am I wrong in thinking that fans like yourself pay their wages? Thus, if they got paid less, tickets for matches would be cheaper as would merchandise? Or am I wrong? Not having a pop... just curious
Highly unlikely I will earn 50k pa in my lifetime let alone per week...Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -
Ok Will fair point,
but I manage 10 people and certainly dont feel that I am under that much less pressure to 'perform' based on my weekly targets but earn about a tenth of the annual of a Pro footballer..and I consider myself talented in my field.
Wish I had listened to my PE teacher at school now...:j0 -

no coz the money would then goto the chairman rather the players. Keeps the money flowing in football rather than being stagnent. The only downside to this is that with the current influx of foreign players into the game some of this money is going out fo the country. But then on the otherside, abromovich and chelski are putting a shed load more in

recent stats show (from nuts or zoo i think)
Average wages
Prem player- £750000
Championship-£250000
League 1-£70000
League 2-£35000
so really its only the top two leagues that get paid brilliant money IMO
i wouldn't say no to league two wages mind!
