in Scotland
I was given a prescription at the dentist the other day which I had to take to the local pharmacy to collect, and came home to an invoice for him writing it today.
As far as I was aware prescriptions in Scotland were free? I have never been charged in the past for someone writing a prescription.
Does anyone know if this has changed??

There has always been a charge in Scotland for writing a dental prescription. It is £3.72 if no other treatment is provided. It helps to defray the costs of the dentists time ,running costs etc.
If other treatment is provided at the same time the cost cannot be claimed.0
