I have just received a letter from the CSA dated the 28/07/2017 saying the liability is no longer in force as my child has reached 20.
Then the next line says
"This liability for child maintenance ended on 5/05/2015".
What does it mean? im so confused please any ideas?
I pay every month.

Ring them up and ask them for both requests.0 -
Did the child leave full time education at 18?
I would have read it as the claim ended on the earlier date but had the parent with care wanted to it could have been extended (ie had they remained in education) but now they are 20 it doesn't matter what they are doing, you dont need to pay maintence *assuming there aren't additional younger children*0 -
You need to ask them if child benefit stopped in 2015 perhaps because your child did not remain in education and thus you may have overpaid Child Maintenance.
First you need to find out if this is indeed the case. Ask them. If they faf around a SAR request would extract information from your file.
It may turn out that all is in order but it seems quite clear that your liability stopped in 2015.
Is there a possibility you had some arrears to pay off?0 -
Could just be typical moronic CSA. I had exactly the same when my liability ended. A letter saying it was over and a letter in the same envelope with the next years payment schedule.
Simple enough to just give them a ring and ask them (EDIT# The CSA staff are reasonably helpful. The systems though are monumentally !!!!!!)0
