    Hi TH!

Yes, ebaying and FB are going well, but very small amounts coming in! I've used a local group for FB selling a couple of times, with mixed results, but this is a specialist nationwide group - I'm selling cloth badges, so low value, but to a keen audience.

I'm afraid our cats have never actually had fleas, so I can't help you there - we just use the preventative stuff. Sorry!

Thats really good though ,i find all the small amounts add up to a good amount over the year ,i might try joining some specialist groups who are interested in the items i sell .
We have always used fronx lixx from the vets as a preventative but this year it just hasnt worked for the dog ,the cat has been fine on it for years and he was too until this year ,i think he must have become immune to it ,i guess its back to the vets again .Thank you .

Hmm, plans don't seem to be going quite as smoothly as I'd hoped today. The idea was for DH to pay my cc bill each month and me to pay the equivalent off the mortgage. Because it's been quite quiet for a while my income only covered my bills this month (leaving me with less than £100 for veg boxes, milkman and incidentals....). DH has paid his CCs but says he can't afford to pay mine too. I don't understand this as he managed last month and the bills were higher.... we'll have to look at it later. We have the money, so it's not a crisis, but it's frustrating.

We won't be spending any more than necessary this month though, that's for sure. Fortunately cupboards are well stocked, so we'll just be buying the bare minimum - so far £1.79 on squash and carrots. We're meeting friends in London on Saturday, so a strict budget needed for that (and/or some of it will be met from the treat fund) and DH has a stag do later in the month (accomm, travel, activity already paid for, so just drink and food - he'll have to be sensible!). Other than that a quiet month I think!

Still plan to pay my OP fund (~£80) and the savings from home ins budget off the mortgage :D

Hmm that's a nuisance. Could you pay off and get rid of the CCs or do you need them? We used to have one but paid it off and got rid of it, it just seemed to add another layer of financial admin onto things and we didn't need the hassle xx

Sorry ATB, to be clear, they are always cleared at the end of the month - I've never paid interest on one. We use them to get airmiles - one day we'll have enough for a first class flight to the US... one day! We're pretty disciplined spenders and they only get used for things we need - food, fuel, DIY stuff....

    Ah sorry, my misunderstanding :)

Just think, one day when you are MF and you are on that free first class flight to the US with a glass of bubbles in your hand..... what a feeling that will be xx

Ouch, madvix, sounds like some communication is needed - hope it all goes well. Tricky thing, talking openly - me and my colleague were doing some of that yesterday, and he got quite ... feisty ... at one stage. It worked out, for now - ours was only a little thing but even so, I'm not going to do what he wants just because he wants it, when I *don't* want it. Clear as mud, I know, sorry :o

No need to worry on that front KC - DH and I are on the same page re money. I just couldn't work out how he'd managed to settle last month's bigger bills, and couldn't do this month's. It turns out he used some savings to pay last month's (there were exceptional things on there, that savings had been earmarked for). We went through the bills last night and identified some bits that could come from budgeted money too, so now just waiting for the payments to go through to work out what's left to pay. It'll all be fine I think, although there won't be a lot to live on this month. However, cupboards are full, cat food is in, so I think we'll be fine and just have to be disciplined. One of my jobs for today is to do an up-to-date freezer inventory.

Work from my main client should hopefully pick up this month as there's a scheduled project due to begin, and they pay quickly, so April's payday (beginning of May) should be fine; March's payday (beg Apr) should be fine-ish once last month's late payers get their act together. Another occasional client has asked me about a rate for a regular project too, so if that comes off it'll be nice to have another steady stream of income for a while.

Just checked and I won £25 on the PB this month :D So I think I'm probably ahead on interest now than if I'd had my tax money in a instant access savings account - £75 since September :) When that arrives I'll add it to the OP fund for next month (although I'm not sure whether I'll be able to make an OP next month, unless some unexpected money comes our way).

    Have a good day everyone!
