Will it be cheaper to get a loan with First Direct or use my overdraft with them?

I got my car in August, and whilst I was waiting for a cheque to clear for insurance, I needed to borrow £1000 for a week. First Direct offered me an overdraft for £1000 as it would be cheaper than a loan, and for the week I used it, I was charged around 28p in interest which I find a really good rate.

Unfortunately this morning, I scraped the drivers door on a low fence in a really tight car park, and when I've just taken it to a bodywork specialist, he informed me I'm going to need a new door. I'm looking at around £300 just to repair it, and right at this moment in time I only really have £300 to my name. I start a part time job in just short of a month, which should be bringing me in about £144 ish a week, so after three weeks I'll have cleared it all. But I don't know if to get a loan until I can pay it off, or stick with my overdraft..?

Is the door mechanically sound? Is the car still watertight?

If it were me i would save x amount of my wage and get it sorted when i had the cash, my own money to pay for it.

How bad is the scrape ?

Surely theres a cheaper optoon then the new door ?

It is mostly water tight, but I'm a little worried about too much rain getting into it. I took it to the car wash earlier because it was filthy and I wanted to see the extent of the damage without the dirt all around it. And it was a hand carwash, but the water from the power wash just came inside, but it's rained quite a lot today and hasn't really come in

The scrape is really bad and the door is bent at the top, it is a new door job and it needs doing really quickly. Though my step dad has offered to lend me the money, and I spoke to my grandma on the phone and I think she wants to cover it

Just seen your previous message, i was going on the idea you had just scraped the door on the low fence, so had you bent the door at the same time.

Maybe a neww door is what you need.
