Can anyone please help me. My son and his wife both work and pay huge amounts £51 per day child care yet have been told there isn't any help for the first child is this correct. They don't earn over £41,000. It is so confusing. Is there anything else they can get help with?

Can anyone help clarify this please.

Many thanks

Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind.
They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.

What kind of satisfaction do you get from giving an unhelpful poke in the eye like that?

How much they earn? Not over 41k, it can mean 40k or 25k. But if they've got 40k in total and only one child, yes, that's correct, won't get any child tax credits. They only help they're entitled to is child benefit.

What was their income for 2015/16 and expect income for 2016/17?

How much is the weekly childcare? You mention the daily amount but not the number of days.

And to be fair - the title of the forum is "child support" and the post is about supporting a child! Not everybody considers that parents have to split up before supporting a child becomes an issue.
