They are actually a division of (i.e. part of) Abbey. Same as Halifax/IF/Birmingham Midshires.
It means that they only need one banking licence and costs them less to run.0 -

Well for starters the cover issue is only if you save with the bank and for finishers I can't believe that any government wouldn't step in (over and above their requirements) to maintain consumer confidence in the banking system...0
