Sorry mum! can't afford to buy a present this year!!

Good morning peeps!!

Well with the festive season becoming more and more commercialised the pressure to give hits many a purse string!

" Sorry mum, can't afford to buy you a present this year. "

Words sadly uttered by my Carer who treats and respect me as Mum.

With 3 million people lonely at Christmas, never receiving a call or having a chat, never seeing another human being for days on end I gave him another meaning to Christmas and presents.

' Listen up , I told him, come sit down and let me tell you what you have given me throughout this year"

You worry when I don't answer the phone, that tells me you care. You worry when during your busy life looking after your family and trying to make ends meet, that you wish you could visit me more than 3 times a week. You insist if I need something, not to be embarrassed to ask, or if I am ill, pick up the phone, no matter what time of day or night it is and youI will be there for me... You worry when I have lost my voice, or can't get out and about because its too cold.

You make sure you pick me up on time to take me to my hospital, doctors appointments and stay with me. You constantly ask me if I need food or water whilst waiting.

You wrap your arms around me, when walking to steady me if I fall. You bring me smiles when you walk through my door, and give the biggest hugs and kisses on my cheeks and say , ' Mum I love you'.

You listen to my day, and share you thoughts about life in general. You encourage me with my crafts and wish I could sell them. You simply care enough to show you love me. "

As you can see peeps, the gift of given is not just at Christmas!

I made my Son/carer aware that throughout the year, what he has given me, is more than he will ever know, well he knows now, hehehe..

So take time peeps to appreciate what you have given to others this year and be proud because you've made someone feel wanted and needed. Company, conversation, and togetherness in various ways is the true meaning of Christmas!!

Happy Christmas everyone!!

Beautifully written all with so much thought but it was the following ing paragraph that 'got me'

You wrap your arms around me, when walking to steady me if I fall. You bring me smiles when you walk through my door, and give the biggest hugs and kisses on my cheeks and say , ' Mum I love you'

From here one I was a wreck!

    Merry Christmas Everyone.
Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.

    from snoop:

Good evening all you wonderful peeps, thank you all for such lovely heart felt comments and replies.

Sue: I truly understand how you feel, to all of you who can relate to this, I give you all a big warm hug and simply say, I undersand and thank you for reading.

I was so moved by my Carers/Sons comment, upon reflection, I did cry not of sadness but to know that a loving and given heart can never change!

It is these , what appears to be little things of love that mean the most to me and I am sure to others too. When we can receive the kindness and warmth of others, do you know peeps, it makes me feel MORE THAN ALIVE, it makes me feel, that I am not only existing, but I am living.

Nothing in my humble opinion, can replace or come near the gift of given, from the heart.

Its seems to be the most simple of acts to care ! and yet to the receiver, it brings, joy, strength, hope and courage to cope so much easier, knowing that , someone is looking out for them.

Blessing to all of you this festive season!! xxx
