Just had an irritating call from my mobile phone provider:mad:

Them: Dear LadyGnome we want to reward you for your loyalty to us by giving you an Android tablet
    (all good so far)
... It comes with an attached discounted tariff of £3.50 pw...

Me: So you are rewarding me by giving me something I don't particularly need and asking me to pay for it?

Them: But its a discounted tariff...
Me: No thanks I'll give it a miss.

Sneaky blighters - we're going to give you a free gift that will cost you money every month. I wonder how many people fall for it. I bet none of you MFW would be sucked in by the spiel.

Well done on seeing through the sneaky blighters. I know a few people who would think that was a good deal!

Great growing too, crops sound delicious.

    Good morning ETE

I love having a garden after years of living in flats. Ours is not huge, just a typical urban/suburban garden in London but it is amazing what you can grow and it gets the children interested in veg (at least for a few minutes!). MrGnome's family have a small holding in his home country so he loves being outside athough his approach to gardening can be a "enthusiastic" at times. I get a bit twitchy if he gets the chainsaw out!.

    MSE stuff
Not much to report. A low spend day yesterday just some bits for packed lunches and a highlighter pen for the younger Gnomeboy, less than £5 in total. Today I've spend £1 on 8 small kitkats at Mr T so that's the packed lunches covered.

I referred MrGnome to TCB yesterday as he shops on eb@y a fair bit so can do that through TCB and we will both get some cash when he hits £10 CB.

Hello everybody, I've been AWOL for a bit due to the recurrence of an old back problem.
However, there is always a silver lining ... Apart from some prescription charges it's been LS or NS days for the last week or so. I am now on target to hit my savings goal for the month and probably better it. Not only that but I have barely been out of the house so few opportunities for frittering and no travel expenses.

Payday next week and my current account is healthier than expected.:j

Hi LG - sorry to hear about your back problem, I know from experience how much that can affect you. I hope you are back on the mend now.

Good going on the spending and well done on the healthier than expected bank account. I wish mine was - we are having a very tight month (self inflicted) and I can't wait for pay day.

Hi Busy yes I am improving and should be back in work on Monday. Hope your restraint this month pays off (excuse the pun). I will be fairly squeezed next month as it is Xbox month:eek: It should get a bit easier from then.

Brizzled thank you. I hope you have a good weekend too.

Some good news, the car got through its MOT. We did replace two tyres earlier this week as they might not have got through but that was the only expense.
