Then you should apply for a Discretionary Housing Payment (DHP) at your local council office to (hopefully) meet some or all of the shortfall.HB pays most of it but needs adjusting up a bit now I am unemployed. Not sure when that will happen. To cover the bills as well I am lucky enough to have relatives who are willing to help for a few weeks so I was just checking (on other thread as well) whether putting the money in my account would be a good idea or not.
If someone is willing to pay things / commitments for you then they should pay it themselves and should never give you the money to do so.
