    Ask them to pay the rent direct to the landlord.

    Then you should apply for a Discretionary Housing Payment (DHP) at your local council office to (hopefully) meet some or all of the shortfall.


    If someone is willing to pay things / commitments for you then they should pay it themselves and should never give you the money to do so.
