Employer Pension Contributions

Options
Hi,

My work give us a 5% flex allowance to use as we please so can either take it as salary or use it for other benefits.

But my question is: They also take the 1% employers pension contribution from it if you’re part of the pension scheme so I would only get 4%. Are they allowed to do this?

Thanks
Paul
