Hi

Until my partner moved in 26th August weekend I was claiming 25% single persons discount. I'm self employed so keen to ensure I'm always legal etc. Anyway, I informed the council he moved in and to remove my discount, only now it seems they've calculated the remaining payments as though I've never had the discount. My payments with discount were £110 a month which have now shot up to £192 a month!

I don't know if I'm being thick but here's my workings out:
Yearly Monthly
Total for year [/INDENT]1468 146.8
with discount (25%) 110.1

Paid 6*110 660.6
August to Jan 5 months 587.2 146.8

Paying 4 * 192 768

Actual for year
Payment to August 660.6
Payment to Jan 768
Total 1428.6

What I expected
Payment to August 660.6
remaining 4 * 146.8 587.2
Shortfall to september payment 37
1284.8

I calculate you owe £1320.20 for whole year, so however much you have paid up to your last monthly payment should be subtracted from that figure and the result divided by how many months left to pay to give monthly figure now required
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
