I think with anything like this you must include your own experiences when biulding up an image of what goes on. The questions I ask myself is "why" what is this persons agenda what are they getting out of it? It may well be true whistle blowing or it could be misdirection. Our government is brillient at misdirection and it is mutted that they studied Hitler because he was a master (no matter how misguided he was).

They are valuable reads and offer an insite but I suggest you treat it as an insite not gosple. In some respects they are saying what we want to hear, what we expect and what we sumize, so do you really think they are that thick?

We in general are mere mortals compared with DCA/banking/finance executives. Over the years they have manipulated us into thinking a surtain way and have demonstrated over time how gulable we are, hence walk on stage Martin Lewis and co who try to point out how our trust is manipulated
    against us.

Trust is a state of mind - fact costs you money:mad:

interesting point about the 7 years unpaid!

It's interesting, but they are wrong regarding the 7 years.

If Barclays/Barclaycard (or any creditor) default an account and enter that on your Credit Reference Files, then that default and the details of the account remain on the files for 6 years.

But after 6 years, a defaulted account and all the the details of it are removed from the credit reference files. That happens whether you have completely ignored it, made payments during that six years, or even settled the account.

An account that hasn't been defaulted will remain on your files for six years from the time the debt was written off or settled, but in the vast majority of cases where you have not kept to an agreement for more than about 3 months a default will be issued.

    EDIT:

From Link: Experian Sample Report 2008
A defaulted account is removed from your report after six years whether or not you have paid the debt in full. If you have paid some of the debt off, the balance should show how much you still owe.
And Equifax: How long will information stay on my Credit File?
Credit Agreements: 6 years from the date the account was settled, written off or defaulted, whichever occurred first
