Much of their operating area is already covered by the Network railcard anyway which gives a third off fares including first class. Good news for those in Norfolk and Suffolk - but if Worcester and Exeter are deemed part of the south east for the network railcard based on choices of other operators why doesn't Greater Anglia sign up too for that?

Slight misreporting in the MSE article?
While this is the first over-50s' discount card in England, there is already a similar Club 50 scheme available in Scotland via ScotRail, and Transpennine Express also has a Club 55 card which allows you to travel anywhere in the north of England and Scotland from £21 return.

Transpennine Express doesn't have a Club 55 card. They offer promtions for over 55's, ( the current offer expires on 19th November 2017), although a further 20% discount is also available if you have a Senior, Disabled or Two Together Railcard (provided travellers are aged over 55).

    Cheaper Autumn travel

If you're aged 55 or over, travel on any of our off-peak trains anywhere in the north of England from £21 return, as well as in and out of Scotland from £31 return. Available to book on journeys taking place from 18 September to 19 November 2017.

    buy cheap train tickets online

A further 20% discount is also available if you have a Senior, Disabled or Two Together Railcard (providing travellers are aged over 55).

And if you fancy splashing out on First Class, just pay that bit extra and away you go, the TransPennine Express network is your oyster.

To take advantage of the reduced prices for Club 55, you need to buy tickets using the 'Buy Tickets' button above, alternatively tickets are also available at stations.

Which is subject to a Mon-Fri minimum charge of £13, so doesn't always work out well.

I have an annual season ticket from Pevensey Bay to Pevensey and Westham. The last time I went to Pevensey was 1973....

You might find an annual season ticket from Lapworth to Hatton is cheaper ;)
