How early would signs of pregnancy

How early would signs of pregnancy show on a scan in a hospital?
Dwy galon, un dyhead,
Dwy dafod ond un iaith,
Dwy raff yn cydio’n ddolen,
Dau enaid ond un taith.

Minimum of 5 weeks but that may just be the gestational sac seen

So it would be highly unlikely for signs of pregnancy to be showing on a scan within 3 weeks of the end of a period?

A gestational sac would be about it

Go google 5 week scans, there's a few good ones on YouTube

    I would have thought so.
Even if you had sex the day your period ended, and happened to be ovulating right at that time, the fertilised egg would need to implant, and it takes four weeks for a foetus to reach the size of a peppercorn, so it seems very unlikely anything would show on a scan at that stage.

(Dr but not obstetrician or radiologist)

I think you can see from 4-5w if transvaginal scan, or 7w if abdominal. All approx.

(timings from date of first day of last menstrual period - lmp).

So I think it might just be possible to see a gestational sac 3w after last day of lmp, depending on length of lmp, but probably only if the scan is transvaginal, and I wouldn't take not seeing one at that point as definitive proof that there isn't one there.

My 1st scan was vaginal scan, I thought I was 6 weeks (from period), they told me I was nearly 5.

I was suffering morning sickness about week b4 period was due.

A HCG test would confirm earlier. Then if there are any medical concerns you can be referred to the early pregnancy unit at six weeks for a scan (they'll see you earlier in an emergency).
