Hi,
I've recently being going through this process after I did a 1-year School Nurse training programme in 2009/10. I earned £23,220 that year, paying full tax and national insurance.
I wrote to HMRC directly on 27th September, requesting a refund and sending all of the paperwork/evidence in.
Last Monday, I received a letter saying I was due a refund on my NI - cheque received last Friday! :T:beer:
Apparently, the tax is being assessed separately and so I'm still waiting to hear...
Anyone else going through this at the moment? I've had minimal issues with the chaos reported, thankfully, but it might still become hard-work getting the tax back I suppose
