Well spotted that man!
Dentistry was squeezed out of that little inconvenience in 1948!How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
Actually dental charges were introduced in 1951 to help defray expense of dental treatment.
It is worth pointing out the dental surgeries do not get this increase it just means patients pay a greater proportion of the cost of dental treatment. For some dentists the patient fee will be almost 100% of what they recieve for treatment so they are just acting as government tax collectors.0 -
Scotland is increasingly becoming a much cheaper place to live, esp healthcare, no wonder I keep hearing english accents lol
Free non private healthcare and prescriptions anyone ?
Oh if your 40% tax dont bother, you cant have it all:rotfl:SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
Has there been an explanation of why these charges are going up 5% when cpi is only 0.3 %? They are also going up 5 % next April as well.0

It's not going into NHS dental practices. The increase in UDA values is around 0.1% this year , and has been no more than 1% for the last few years. With the costs of running a practice going up by 10% a year dental incomes have fallen by 20% and are continuing to fall.
Most ccgs (clinical commissioning groups) etc are in the red so are not commissioning more dental services ,and as the dental budget is not ring fenced, in general the increase in patient charges in England are just helping to balance the black hole that is NHS finances.0
