Just popped by to say I've subscribed to your diary and good luck :)
    Thank you Clarey x

I spoke to the BS today about the remortgage, I have paased the initial lending criteria :j I have a telephone appointment next Wednesday now :T

I'm in the mmiddle of a dispute with my ex landord over the bond, there is £360 in dispute, and I had a letter today saying it's going to the adjudicator now, so more waiting it seems. It's been well over 3 months now

Only spends today were diesel, and I filled up a full tank for less than £40, havent done that in a long while.

Have heard quite a few good PPI stories on here, I was turned down for a PPI claim a while ago, but I think it's worth another go.

    That's all for today xx

Good advice, I should have taken it sooner. I'm off work poorly today. Sore throat, achey, mouth ulcers. :(:(:(
I aways know I'm properly poorly when Jeremy Kyle is bearable :rotfl:

Thank you I do feel a bit better today, stayed at home today tho. Need to make sure I'm properly better, not a good start to the year :(.

So, how to make this £310 extra by the end of the month? I've listed an xbox wifi thingy on fleabay. I suppose I could add my milage claim and greeting card income which would be £400, but that feels like cheating, I need to find EXTRA ways to make it.

I'll have a good look though today to see what else I can sell on fleabay, a root through the wardrobe is due too.

Also last year I did have some success with matched betting (don't do this unless you've researched lots) there's a thread on it on here somewhere. I can have another look at that too.

Today is the final day for evidence before my deposit bond dispute goes to the adjudicator. It's currently sitting at 'awaiting landlord response', I do hope he forgets to respond, then I get it all back :)

I'm very upset that Starbucks have just opened a drive through 1 mile from my house, and on my route to work, how very dare they. Now I have to resist the skinny latte urge daily, a big test of my rehab.

    Hi Skinnylatte,

Just a quick note to let you know I've subscribed to your diary. I've sold my little flat and will be moving into my "forever" house later this month, so I'll have a new mortgage to start overpaying and new spreadsheets to fiddle with. It looks like we're in fairly similar situations - my salary and mortgage payments are both a bit less than yours, and my mortgage is a few years longer than yours - so I'm reading your diary for inspiration.

It's funny as I was just thinking about some Salsa lessons today :rotfl:

Luckyinlife - noooo, if I had 2 per wek I would be hooked, anyhow 2 per week is over £300 per year, £3000 over my 10 year mortgage mugging. I have to stay away from the dark side.

Not a bad weekend, lots of resting, still feel extremely unmotivated. I have been painting my kitchen doors, instead of replacing the whole kitchen, they look fab, very farm house style. However I've got 3 left to do and they've been sat there for over a week, If any one has some good motivational tips......I think I might have to meditate on it.

I rung up the mortgage peeps for a current balance, and was delighted to find nearly another £1k off and soon will be in to the £132's. It seemed to take for ever to knock the first 1% off.

I have listed a heap of stuff on ebay this weekend. If they all sell for the listing price I'll have £104. Current bids are £20.

Also had a good mooch through the charity shops yesterday, I bought a melon baller for 39p, I've always wanted one :rotfl:

Nice lunch out with a friend today, a total of £6 spent with soup and chips with a lime and soda. We also managed to plan 2 short breaks on a budget. 1 to Dublin to a country gig, Dublin airport doesn't have any taxes, so a really really cheap place to fly to, and I'll use IHG points or hotels.com free nights for the accomodation, we'll share a room. The other 1 was a music festival in scotland. The tickets are £60 for the whole weekend and we can stay at my Mum's. I feel a bit guilty that I haven't organised a holiday with the kids yet, but holidays with kids are just soooo expensive .

Made a batch of turkey lasange with turkey mince from Aldi on special offer, and carrot soup. Aren't carrots fabulous? So much stuff you can do with a bag of carrots.

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend, and are ready for the week ahead, or as ready as we can be ;)

Hardly an expert as we went great guns the first year in the house and then did hardly anything year 2. Hoping for a bit more balance this third year. ;) That said, one thing that's worked well for me is to just tell myself I'll do one little bit. One coat of primer, or just touch up the paint in one room. Usually I end up doing quite a bit more once I actually have the tools/supplies out, so that's a bonus, but if nothing else it means a small bit of progress keeps going. Take that with a grain of salt, though, as I don't think we have a single finished project in our house ;), lots of 95-99% ones though!

"You don't need another Skinny Latte" - I've heard that somewhere before ;)

Great news on the mortgage figure, it can feel like a long time with the % side of things, but as the interest amount gets less and you wrap that into the capital, you're increasing paid off amount and % too.

A bit of spreadsheet fiddling and you'll be amazed how that extra £1 paid off here and there starts to make a noticeable difference on all fronts :)
    Back on the DFW Wagon:

    CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
    CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
    Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/18
