Perfect timing to get a 5% cashback American Express card,
if you were going to spend ~£2,000 on a one year GOLD Travelcard any way.
What a shame they didn't have these deals when I was commuting. £2,000 credit card balance can be transferred to a Virgin 40 month 0% deal, and the cash saved can be used to generate interest in Regular Savers.
The 3% cashback on London Transport using the Santander 123 CC is only up to £100 spend per month, so a one year Travelcard is out of the picture.
It's not bad news, it's an opportunity to stooze.0
