Interesting.........and the Clubcard scheme is one of the few weapons left to Tesco to try to justify the fact that it charges around 30% more for its groceries than Aldi and Lidl. And frequently for poorer quality groceries, too.
They watered down the Clubcard scheme a while back, which probably lost them a lot of previously loyal customers which they're now trying to win back.
Still a very expensive option for customers, though, whatever they do. Even if they multiplied the value of the points by ten it will still only equate to a 10% discount - and that's still 20% less than the discount available by NOT shopping at Tesco.0 -
Not that excitingDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I've got an ever-increasing pile of Tesco Clubcard vouchers just waiting for Tesco to do a special deal on something I actually want. They keep doing special deals, but for only for things I have no need of.
I may just go back to my old ways of just spending them on groceries and forget about doubling them up.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
We continue to use Tesco because they are the only supermarket within a twelve mile radius of home. Having been lifelong converts we are fast losing patience with their antics.
This latest Clubcard deal again focuses on non essential offers and does nothing to ease peoples everyday needs.
To top it all even the everyday value range seems to be fast disappearing, something we will soon do as we are moving to a location with more choice in a matter of a few months.
The next boost will hopefully see the last of our vouchers and there credit card will get the boot as well.0 -

States in the MSE write-up that the boost is better than normal.
Better for who? I can't see a single offer which is something I'd use or want to use. I wont be using my clubcard points for anything on the list. Hope they add to the offers because right now I don't see anything being better than it normally is unless you are in one of the groups mentioned. I doubt many will take up this offer.
Having said this; with Nectar halving their points (again) and Morrisons creating a card so poor in value and Waitrose taking off the free caf! coffee, I'm seeing Tesco as the only loyalty card on offer giving something back to customers so far this year.0 -

The names? You guessed it - Aldi and Lidl. Tesco's nemesis.0 -

And frequently for poorer quality groceries, too.let's not forget - there are two supermarkets in particular which don't provide loyalty cards. They don't artificially inflate their prices from time to time, just to allow them to run 'half price' or BOGOF offers. They don't make you buy more than one item just to get a fair price. They just sell good quality products (usually better than Tesco) at fair prices, which mostly stay much the same every week.

Yawn.......
So you shop at Lidl and/or Aldi? Jolly good for you.
Why is it that every discussion about any other supermarket gets hijacked by someone banging on about how much better Lidl/Aldi are?
Do you think we live in some kind of bubble and are unaware of their existence?
Those who shop at Tesco do so for a variety of reasons: maybe we don't have a convenient Lidl or Aldi nearby? Maybe we prefer some of the brands that aren't available at Lidl or Aldi? Maybe we don't want to have to do battle through the piles of stuff on the floor in the aisles and people elbowing each other out of the way to get to 'the bargains'? Maybe we also need to use the pharmacy/opticians/petrol station etc ? etc etc etc
What relevance does banging on about Aldi/Lidl have to a discussion about the Clubcard scheme?
I doubt anyone shops at Tesco simply to get the Clubcard points, but for those who do shop there, for whatever reason, and gain points as a 'side effect' of that, it's sensible to try and get the best value for them.
Having said that, I agree that there's nothing in this offer that's of any interest to me.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

The iTunes boost may be good to use for presents, however does anyone know if you get just a digital code or an actual plastic card, and how long validity would be?
jackieblack I agree with your comments, this thread isn't to discuss cheapest place to buy food it's about Tesco Clubcard and what we think of the latest offers0 -

I accept that people are aware of Aldi and Lidl, but your post ("don't want to have to do battle through the piles of stuff on the floor in the aisles and people elbowing each other out of the way to get to 'the bargains'?") shows very clearly how some people are unaware of the way that Aldi (in particular) and Lidl have changed to cater for the upmarket customers they now aim for - and get.
Tesco, Morrisons and Asda are now downmarket from our Aldi, which shares its customers with Waitrose. That's self-evident from the customers in the shops and the cars in the car parks. I accept fully your particular reasons for shopping at Tesco, but your views on Aldi and Lidl are way, way out of date.0
