    It is all about sentiment. Whether an economy is growing or shrinking is a nonsense figure in any case and far too much weight is attached to the measurement of our GDP. It also hides a lot of regional variation in different parts of the UK (i.e. growth is London-led).

    However, if good news doesn't start coming quick and fast I think there is a real danger that a whole lot of resentment will start being fostered among the general population. People have accepted that tough times are here for a while, but, 4 years on, we need some light on the horizon and people need to see tangible improvements that affect their everyday lives before we can genuinely say that things are getting better.
