This is the discussion thread for the following MSE News Story:

"The number of homes repossessed by mortgage lenders last year fell to its lowest rate since 2007, but is predicted to jump in 2012 ..."

    This is no surprise to me given that we now live in a society where you are applauded for being in debt and the governement goes all out to protect you from the nasty 'they made me do it' lenders.

    As long as mortage lenders are being told by government to leave defaulters to build up as much arrears as they want, and under no circumstances chuck them out, figures for repos will remain a nice little inoffensive statistic.

    I just wonder what mayhem will ensue when reality finally kicks in and interest rates are raised.
    Most people are working too hard to make really decent money:eek:
