Am I the only one so angry that for being English and living in England I am having to pay for prescriptions on a regular basis because I have Asthma

If I was in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland it would be free, How is that right?

To add insult if I had diabetes and needed a regular script that is free in England

I feel like I am subsidising so many people

This kind of, frankly, ignorant statement does nothing to help your situation. The subsidy broken record is divisive and ill informed (think about Oil revenues for a start). It is unfair that people throughout the U.K don't get free prescriptions, however, devolved governments make decisions on how to spend their funds. If that differs from spending choices in England, in areas you are unhappy with, why not contact your M.P, protest, take action etc.

Painting government decisions taken as the fault of other nations, or blaming other countries for getting the things you would like, serves no-one.

I don't agree with Scottish independence but I can't dictate what Holyrood decide do with the money, they're given, which this year has been reduced, by a large amount. I really wouldn't mind paying for my prescription at all.

As someone else said, if you're unhappy with what Westminster are doing for you, contact your local MP.

I do hope this isn't going to turn into a discussion with any kind of racist overtones!

P.S I'm Scottish, but lived in England happily for many years, I don't think you should be making sweeping statements about people in the north who 'hate your guts'.

And it's coming across from you that the feeling is mutual.

I hate the misconception that SOME people have, that all Scots hate the English. This is not true.

Why start a thread like this? We all know the way it's going to go.
