Eek? 31st July - I thought it was 31st October?
I've double checked the return I received in the post and it still says that the deadline is 31st October, and not 31st July (or 31st Jan 2011, if you file online.)
Are you 100% sure that you aren't referring to the Tax Credits deadline in the original article, which I'm fairly certain is July 31st?
Edit: Sorry - I misread it - you were only referring to making a payment (I'm already up to date) rather than filing the next return (for 2009/10)0 -
A minor correction to the article:
Those whose previous year's tax bill was more than [STRIKE]£500[/STRIKE] £1,000 have to make payments on account, unless more than 80% of the previous year's liability was deducted by an employer.I am an Accountant.
