Hi all,
I normally post on the DFW board but have crept over to you guys as I have just had a pre-bankruptcy phone call from my debt management charity - CAP - it was 1 hr and 4 mins long and left me feeling sick and trying so very hard not to cry.
Some of you may know of my difficulties late last year and early this year when the twins and I were evicted from our previous home due to rent arrears which had been brought on by my loss of job and mental health problems and that is why I am now having to go bankrupt.
The guy from CAP was very helpful and asked so many questions and I now feel drained and so weepy and ashamed.
He said that my court date will probably be in a couple of weeks (before my Mum comes to stay I hope:o ) and informed me of the fact that my account will be frozen, so now need to look at opening a Post Office account initially as apparently they aren't affected by bankruptcy, then maybe after open a Barclays or Co-op one for more services.
Anyway, I hope that you will all be able to offer advice where needed and support for which I thank you now in advance.

Meant to say that he said it was borderline as to whether the OR would take my car - its rock bottom value is about £3000 topline £3500 (so maybe less on rock bottom
). I really need to keep the car for ferrying the kids around and also now having trochanteric bursitis in my hip means that I find it difficult to walk far and certainly couldn't carry shopping off the bus uphill to my house.
Oh God, I can see sleepless nights coming yet againChristians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
Good luck with it all MOT, you have been very brave so far, and an inspiration in the way you have dealt with your problems. I hope you get it all over and done with as quickly as possible, then your new life can truly begin.
Best of luck BOBXBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

It is not how many times you get knocked down, it is the amount of times you get back up again.(Helen keller)..you could teach Mike Tyson a thing or two!!Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

You are welcome here any time.
Don't know if its any use but i have just opened a cash minder account (i went bc nov but only just got around to opening one.lol)with co-op and he said its geared for bc and they don't freeze them. Now bear in mind it's the bank which freezes accounts not the OR and you can do transactions at the post office. So may be worth you looking to open one of those now.DFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Hi MOT.
Good to see you honey & hope that the trauma of earlier has subsided a little.
We will all help & support you as much as we can...its difficult to see this now but BR can be very positive...its the road to a fresh start where there is no way of continuing in the current circumstances.
As a regular on DFW you will know about CCCS & Nat Debtline but do call them up & talk through your concerns & also its about getting as knowledgable as possible...this will give you confidence on those darker days.
Keep posting on here ...any questions or even just for a chat...& if you fancy a virtual drink in the Inn you are always welcome.
Take care Sweetie...can`t do anything about sleepless nights I`m afraid but after BR the pressure will ease considerably.

Hi MOT - just to wish you well on what will hopefully be the final part of a difficult time for you - see this as the beginning of the end and the start of a new chapter.
