sorry to say this on a closing comp but this looks like phishing to me, no blame to OP who I have pmd0

It was the look of the graphics; the fuzzy logo; like the graphics you see on the phishing emails; no sane bank would send out emails with links that could be tampered with but as you say, its a belief but would you want to risk pressing a link in a phishing email anyway; you are just using your beliefs, but sometimes thats the sensible thing to do. What would good evidence be in this kind of situation?0

I would say don't go to bank comps through third parties, always go straight to the website - I suppose0

I think this comp would have limited appeal anyway as you have to be a Halifax customer and you probably would have known about it anyway from logging into your online banking, no-one would set up a Halifax account just to win money.
This seems to be a thing with the banks at the moment, I know Nat West (RBS Group) was doing the same promotion for paperless banking0
