The six contenders to the throne are Lisa Jewell (31 Dream Street), Victoria Clayton (A Girl’s Guide To Kissing Frogs), Christina Jones (Heaven Sent), Olivia Lichtenstein (Mrs Zhivago of Queen’s Park), Fiona Neill (The Secret Life of A Slummy Mummy) and Stephen Clarke (Merde Happens). A judging panel, including the likes of comic Jo Brand, novelists Joanna Trollope and Sophie Kinsella, and Jonathan Creek star Alan Davies, has created the short-list for the event.
