Buckmore Park is launching an under-17 road driver training scheme in conjunction with ‘Go Driver Training’, a professional driving school. In this month’s free competition, one lucky Karting magazine reader will be one step ahead when they get their provisional driving licence as we have got a free course of three lessons up for grabs! The ‘Go Driver Training’ initiative is open to any youngster aged between 10 and 16 (minimum height requirement 4’10”) and takes place on Buckmore’s large tarmac paddock area at weekends and during school holidays. The scheme uses dual control cars identical to standard instruction cars, with qualified ADI instructors, and offers personalised driver training with only one pupil per session, with the option to take part in up to three sessions daily.
The training is split into 30 minute segments with different levels of instruction. The first level covers the most basic driving skills such as start, stop, steering and gear changing. Level two covers hill starts and reversing, whilst level three concentrates on mirror use and signals, blind spots and advance manoeuvring. Each session usually costs £30 but we’ve got three sessions to give away to one lucky reader in this month’s free to enter competition!
Question: what age can you start driving a car on the road?
