You have to go to the site to do this. It's a six question quiz type thing with clues and hints scattered through the (small) website. Quite difficult, but quite fun
I'm on stage 3. It's run by Orbit Books.
Info:
Welcome to the Midnight Never Come competition!
Here’s what you can win by entering:
First Prize - One lucky winner will receive a £250 (or $500, or local equivalent) gift voucher for the online book retailer of their choice! They will also receive a signed copy of Midnight Never Come by Marie Brennan.
Runners-up Prizes - Ten runners-up will each receive a signed copy of Midnight Never Come by Marie Brennan.
Instructions for Entering the Competition
To enter each stage of the the competition:
1. Consider the cryptic clue alongside the portrait or picture. If you’re stuck, you can reveal a further hint, by clicking the ‘hint’ button next to the portrait. Further clues may very well be available elsewhere on the site…
2. When you have your answer, click the portrait or picture and you’ll be presented with an entry form.
3. Enter your answer in the space provided and then click the submit button.
4. Your answer will then be checked. If you have answered correctly, you will be invited to submit your email address for the current stage of the competition. If you have answered incorrectly, you will be given the opportunity to try again, or return to the competition gallery page to try another question.
N.B. You can enter each stage of the competition, but only once per stage (duplicate entries will be ignored! For full rules and regulations, please click here). That means you can enter the competition a maximum of six times… but only if you get all six answers correct!
The closing date for entries is midnight (GMT) on Monday, June 30 and the winner will be announced by Friday, July 4th.
If you have any questions about the rules of the competition, please address them to orbit@littlebrown.co.uk. Please note: we will publish the names of the winners on the Orbit website, but will not enter into any other correspondence regarding individual entries.
I hope this is of some interest to people
And good luck!
Apologies for the horrible formatting of this post!

I googled "number of queens on board" and turned up a lot of references to The Eight Queen Puzzle - which I'd never heard of before.0 -
That what I've just done! 'Eight' is, indeed, the answer!'...luck came to those who left a space for it.' Terry Pratchett0

Try 'A Great Light Casts A Great Shadow'. It's the code at the top of the page deciphered using the key on Walsingham's entry on 'The Stage'!'...luck came to those who left a space for it.' Terry Pratchett0

Or, in my case, scanning the site for a seven word phrase where the 2nd and 6th words were identical. Probably faster0 -
