Vital Leeds United is giving you a chance to win a fantastic prize, simply by guessing the number of goals. If you can correctly predict the number of goals scored in the entire Euro 2008 competition, then you will win the commemorative DVD box-set of the 1972 FA Cup Final between Leeds United and Arsenal. This includes not only the footage from the game, but “fully restored souvenir match day programme containing all the pre-match build up and comment. Features player profiles, line ups and information on each teams' route to the Final.”

So again, you need to guess the number of goals scored in the entire tournament (that includes games already played.) The closest guess to the exact total as confirmed by the UEFA Official site wins, anyone who gets the total spot on will win a bonus prize. If there’s a draw, then the tie-breaker comes into play. Site Ed’s decision is final, and you have until Monday 16th June to send the following information and answer to leeds@vitalfootball.co.uk.
The prize will be posted following the end of the tournament, all decisions are final and there is no cash alternative! Good luck!
As a guide, the average number of goals per game in major tournaments is usally about 2.25 and there are 31 games in the tournament so that would suggest a figure in the region of 65-75. I can't find any stats to back this up however. Click here to see more information!

As from yesterday (before the matches) there had been 38 goals, plus the goals in the matches and any to come. So I'm going for 50'ish.Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A
I would like to be lucky,healthy & happy in 2020! :T0 -
There have been 16 games so far with another 15 to come. The current goal-per-game average is 2.1875 so at that rate we can expect a total of 73 (and a half!) goals in the tourney. I would say that 50-something is a low guess. I would imagine the GPG ratio will come down as the poorer teams get knocked out of the tournament but not massively so.Many tx to all who post constructively in all the forums!:beer:0

To be honest the games so far haven't really been that good! Only the Holland game the other night was any good(IMO). I'm not expecting any high scoring games, but obviously each to their own!Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A

Sorry to disagree
but I think the tournament's been brilliant so far. Even ignoring tonight's thriller, almost every game I have watched has been entertaining and enjoyable. There's 4 or 5 teams with a realistic chance of winning and they all play attractivw football.
It's so much nicer without England there. I would like them to be there but I can sit back and enjoy it much more without them,Many tx to all who post constructively in all the forums!:beer:0
