There are some faulty ps2 power packs around and sony are replacing these free of charge. If you have a play around with the different serial numbers and other options then sooner or later (it took me less than 1 minute) it will tell you that you are in need of a new power pack and they will send you one. I got one but cant remember what serial number or other option i put in. Good luck

They say your meant to send it back, but I doubt they'll get many back, most people chuck their old ones! I mean whos gonna bother to put it in the envelope, and carry it to a post office?!!??!?!0

Hadn't seen this on here previously so cheers for posting it again, wouldve missed it otherwise0 -
Us too, we had an affected one, but we threw it out.
Have applied for a replacement.
Thanks to O/P.

You will be asked to return the old one back when you receive yours.
I doubt if they will chase you for it but I imagine that someone will be very peed off when they get such orders from possibly thousands who read this forum and dont have a faulty one to returnIWasLookingBackToSeeIfSheWasLookinBackToSeeIfIWasLookinBackAtHer.....0 -
I remember this happening with xbox a while back. I typed my details in and apparently needed a new one, but nothing came of it. Is this some kind of scam to get your details?

No. The Xbox recall was genuine (I think they recalled around 14 million powerpacks). If you needed a new powerpack, and didn't receive it, you need to reapply. This PS2 recall is also genuine (they are recalling 1.4 million powerpacks). How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?
