Mark Jackson, the new landlord at The Cowper Arms in Cole Green, Hertford, is delighted to team up with the Barnet and Potters Bar Times to offer four lucky readers the chance to sample the restaurant's delicious menu.

The £100 voucher and three £50 vouchers that are up for grabs will also allow the winners to see the fabulous changes that were made to the interior of this popular village pub in April.

Served from 12pm every day, the menu offers traditional pub favourites: juicy steaks, burgers, tasty fish dishes, crisp salads and a variety of sandwiches and lighter bar snacks. The traditional Sunday roast with all the trimmings and cauliflower cheese is legendary (from £8.95).

The menu includes freshly prepared dishes such as Spiced crab and crayfish cocktail (£5.50), Roast British chicken supreme stuffed with sun blushed tomatoes with a black olive and basil compote (£10.50) and Apple and Scottish gooseberry crumble with custard (£4.75).

Come along with friends on Thursday July 17 from 6.30pm, and join Mark and his team in the bar for a free evening of wine tasting with consultant Gary Keller. No formal invitation is required - just turn up! Guests will have the opportunity to learn about matching wines to food as the team serve meat, fish and cheese sample bar bites from the menu to complement the wines.
