Innovative board games company Dice Maestro has just released a game about endangered species. In the game players take the role of conservation officers aiming to collect endangered species for their zoos. Wildlife Rescue uses six unique dice with animal symbols on their faces and a pack of beautifully designed cards.
The game is simple enough for even young children to play but sophisticated enough for adults to enjoy. Players have up to three throws to obtain three or more of a species using the wildlife dice. If successful a player takes a wildlife card of that species. Wildlife Rescue features eight Critically Endangered species from four animal groups. The species are: Amur leopard, California condor, Ceylon rose butterfly, dama gazelle, harlequin mantella frog, Javan rhinoceros, mountain gorilla and Rodrigues fruit bat. Each species has a different value depending on how difficult it is to collect in the game. Bonuses for collecting a certain set of species and the ability to take a card from another player provide the tactical mechanism for the game.
Dice Maestro games are made entirely in Britain, reversing the trend that sees the manufacture of games outsourced to countries with poor environmental records, and 10% of game profits are donated to ARKive, an online multimedia library of the world’s endangered species.
G'luck!
