Just a quiery about this sort of competition when they ask what is the secret word. Wouldn't they check to see if you have signed up for the newsletter before they announce you as a winner?

hiya unsure BUT I can tell you that I won a competition, gone with the wind tickets and a stay at the Waldorf hotel - I won before the canned the show at the beginning of May, I had to literally pester them and still am regarding the prize as I wouldn't of found out if I didn't look on the winners page and I was on there. Now the shows been canned - noone answers there emails or anything, the lady said she's waiting to hear about an alternative and that had taken two months already - expect better from Woman and Home, have to start hunting out the comp watchdog people.. bummer

That's really bad, have you tried conatcting the PR people at The Waldorf? might be worth a try, I'm sure they don't want to be associated with any bad press even if caused by the magazine.

hi, yip - I'm going to get told off for bumping this thread aren't I? Oops - my little post was a bit jumbled but I don't think that the Waldorf would do anything about it, I think I'm going to have to hunt down the competition watchdog people, I got this on the 19th June (below) - that was the first communication about it considering that I spotted my name near the middle of May! I spammed them today - know it's not very nice but I emailed all the links on the website - still NADDDAAAA - I'll give them a ring tomorrow but it's one of those things 'O sorry, she has been off sick', (again), or 'Still awaiting contact with the competition organisers - we'll get back to you'

It would've made a lovely birthday pressy that one
