During the mid-1980s Voltron became one of the most popular animated series of all time. Now, Voltron is back in the form of Voltron: Defenders of The Universe Collection 1 – Blue Lion, a three-disc DVD release packaged in a limited edition, embossed Steelbook and containing the first 15 episodes of the series.

At first detained and made slaves in the sport arena of Planet Doom, the five heroes escape and travel to the Planet Arus seeking the secret of the legendary Voltron, the mightiest battle robot in the galaxy. Piloting their own individual "Lion" robots, the five discover that in times of great danger they are able to combine the Lions to create the mighty robot warrior, Voltron: Defender of the Universe.
