JOIN RATTY, BADGER, MOLE AND TOAD IN A TRIO OF SUMMERTIME ADVENTURES
Hopefully heralding the start of summer, Cosgrove Hall's THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS – SUMMER ESCAPADES comes to DVD featuring three exciting and unpredictable summertime adventures (The Great Annual Show; Toad: Photographer; The Great Golfing Gamble) starring Ratty, Badger, Mole and the inimitable Toad.
As a bonus, the DVD comes neatly packaged in its very own special carry case that is really handy for anyone who wants to take it around to their friend's house for some post-BBQ viewing after spending a long day in the garden.
Narrated by Ian Carmichael (The Royal) and featuring the vocal talents of David Jason (A Touch Of Frost), Peter Sallis (Wallace & Gromit), Sir Michael Hordern (Middlemarch) and Richard Pearson (Love Hurts), THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS – SUMMER ESCAPADES is a collection of beautifully animated adaptations of three tales from the Kenneth Grahame book that perfectly capture the spirit of Grahame's timeless classic.
"The Grand Annual Show" sees the riverbank friends entering their own produce in a competition to be Best in Show. Mole brings along his homemade jam, Ratty his special walnut cake and Badger his pickled walnuts, while Toad enters a bottle of elderflower wine. All these are overshadowed, however, by the weasels' unfeasibly large pumpkin.
When Toad discovers that Toad Hall doesn't have a portrait of him, he sets about remedying the problem by taking up a new career in "Toad: Photographer". Naturally, this being Toad, nothing quite goes according to plan.
Sporting matters take centre stage in "The Great Golfing Gamble" in which Toad decides to give up croquet in favour of a "proper sport". Hearing of Toad's new-found interest, the weasels challenge him to a game of golf with Toad Hall as the prize for the winner!
Containing a mixture of adventure, moral integrity and heartfelt camaraderie, these seasonally themed animated stories hold a charm that will appeal to adults as much as children.
THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS – SUMMER ESCAPADES (cert. U) is now available on DVD (£4.99).
