WIN tickets to the David Lean season at BFI Southbank in London
The David Lean season is showing throughout the UK in June and July. To celebrate, we are giving away two pairs of tickets to see any David Lean film showing at BFI Southbank, in London. Offer closes 18 June.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of David Lean, one of Britain's greatest directors. His genius for popular, visual narrative - featuring some of the most breathtaking moments in film history - resulted in some of the most commercially successful films of 1960s and 1970s. To celebrate this centenary, the BFI is hosting a two month retrospective season, bringing together all of Lean's films. Rediscover Lean's classics on the big screen: Brief Encounter, Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago are some of the season's highlights. Alongside these screenings the BFI is hosting an extended run of The Passionate Friends, one of Lean's subtlest studies of emotional turmoil, desire and guilt.
