Hello, I need prescription sunglasses. I know there are a few recommendations on here for glasses, but what about sunglasses? I need to able to drive in them, so the tint has to be right.
Keep an eye out (sorry about the pun!!) for companies doing offers at the moment. I bought some reaction sunglasses last year and got another pair free, total cost £99.
With summer jus around the corner the usual offers start being pushed.
Comparison websites are a great place to check which companies are doing deals. My DD has astigmatism too and this wasn't a problem getting the right sunglasses.
£10 a day challenge so far: Apr-Mar 2008/9 £4336.17
I ordered some sunglasses today from Boots Opticians. If you spend £5 in Boots the Chemist you get a voucher for half price sunglasses. You can then use this voucher in Boots Opticians for all sunglasses including prescription ones. My £99 pair were therefore reduced to £49.50.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. I have an astigmatism - can they put in prisms?
Got mine last year in the specsavers bogof offer. I have astigmatism as well and my sunglasses are varifocals. They are also near black and I drive in them no problem. Dont forget you arent to wear sunglasses when driving at from lighting up time
if you lend someone £20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it
The BOGOF doesn't apply to me. I got a new pair of specs a couple of months ago that are reactor lights and thought I would be ok with those and my old sunglasses, but my sunglasses are now hideously broken. So I am stuck - I have to have sunglasses to drive and when I am wearing a sun hat (the reactor lights don't work with a hat!).
Will check out the Boots offer today, as that sounds good.
I am on my 3rd pair of Wimbledon sunglasses by Rodenstock which are available from my local independent optometrist. The latest pair which are varifocal cost me £125 and they are very on-trend and stylish. I also know that they are very good quality as I am still able to wear the pair I had 3 years ago. They look just as good as the day I got them. The very first pair are in good nick but do look dated now so I do not want to wear them any more.
