OS Hair de-tangler???

I have long hair which is also curly. I use a lot of product between washes as it's also very fine.

I always brush it through before washing and have to use conditioner as it seems to magically re-tangle whilst washing (and is still knotted after washing!)

Does anyone have any OS hair de-tangler miracle product ideas?? I'd love to be able to just give my hair a quick brush, wash and use 'something' which I put on whilst my hair is wet which means I can easily brush/comb afterwards.

I've tried dividing it into sections when I brush before washing (recommended by a hairdresser) and I've also bought a hairdressers de-tangling comb.

Any ideas to take the pain away gratefully received!! :T

i have long curly hair and i know what you mean drives you mad dont it... the only think i do to handle it as with curly hair your not supose to brush it alot as it damages your hair and makes it brake... as i say ive tried everything and i mean everything but the only thing that works for me is while washing when you put the conditioner in brush it while its in leave it for 5 mins then wash it out... then once you've toweled dried you hair leave its damp get some leave in hair conditioner and rub it in to the ends... never the roots as it turns your roots greasy believe me i found out the hard way and let it dry natural ... hope this helps xx

I'll try that searching_me. I've brushed it through (with lots of 'ouches' along the way!) so next time, I'll try that.

I guess the alternative is a Grade 1!!!!

i thought of that one :rotfl: but i think i would just cry :rotfl: ive had years and years of trying everything you can imagine until i talked to a hairdresser and believe me all the tips all my straight/fine hair advice was quite poo :rotfl: they have no clue the pain

if you ever feel the need to brush just run your fingers through it gets rid of the damaged hairs without the pain of the dreaded hair brush :rotfl: xxx

warmed olive oil? Or in Savers you can get a big white pump bottle of 'Great Hair' conditioner which last time I looked was about £1.85 for a bottle bigger than the Tresemme one. (The shampoo is rubbish though)

I recently bought an organic shampoo bar and the instructions were not to use conditioner but to put 2 tbsp cider vinegar in a pint of water and pour over the hair after washing and rinsing. Have to say I didn't think it would work but it did detangle my hair and make it easy to brush. I have continued with this as a final rinse because it does work. (Gave up using the shampoo bar however as my hair seemed to get greasy very quickly)

I don't know if you've come across this before but i've seen it recommended in quite a few places...it's basically washing your hair without shampoo, it's recommended or people with curtly hair or long hair which is prone to dryness, you have to use certain types of conditioner (generally the cheaper ones) which are silicone free and reduce the build up of conditioner on your hair which creates the need for shampoo...it's stops your hair getting dry and tangled...

I know there's a few people who mention it on this thread from page 2 i think...

I use a very wide tooth comb and comb out from the ends first and work backwards up to the top of my head. I don't have curly hair though so can't comment on whether it will work effectively and painlessly for you.

What kind of brush do you have? I bought a good paddle brush and that's helped my tangles, also got the end's snipped off , that seems to have helped.

You should never brush wet hair, only use a wide tooth comb.
I have long, curly hair and use Avon kids hair detangler, a quick spray all over before combing and it really does work.
