For those who dont know the brand, they are a huge OEM manufacturer in Asia and the Funai label is well known over in the states, sponsoring major sporting events like the PGA Funai Classic etc... It was nice to see the brand make it to UK shores!
Ok, onto the recorder... I\'ve always found funai products to do exactly was it says on the tin, and this is no exception. The quality of the recordings at XP down to LP are brilliant and only when you start sellecting the lowest setting, that you notice the pixels in the background showing. This is normal even for a £400 unit!!! Remember these make for the £400 units for the big players out there!!
The recorder uses DVD - R or - RW formats. I dont have an issue with this as I use these formats for the PC more often that the +R format. There is no loss in quality or funtionality either.
It has all the connections you need for connecting to a cinema system and LCD/Plasma. No HDMI but they are only just coming through into the market, so it wont be too long till these chaps are selling em.
I am really happy with this unit and is as good as my JVC I had before it packed up working!!
You cant go wrong, and for the price its far better than the supermarket specials out there!
