The 2008 Academy Award Best Picture winner comes to DVD from June 2nd 2008.Voted Best Picture at this year’s Academy Awards and acclaimed winner of 4 Oscars including Best Direction for the Coen brothers, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor – Javier Bardem, No Country for Old Men is a gripping tale of money, murder and mayhem.
Beauty and the Dirt has 3 copies of the DVD and a meal for two at the Texas Embassy Cantina in London (worth £70).
Based on the celebrated novel by Pulitzer Prize winner Cormac McCarthy, it features an all-star cast with stunning performances from Tommy Lee-Jones (The Fugitive), Josh Brolin (Grindhouse), Kelly MacDonald (Trainspotting) and an Academy Award-winning performance from Javier Bardem (The Sea Inside).
In the parched scrubland and panoramic skies of West Texas, bloodshed and mayhem erupt after Vietnam veteran turned hunter, Llewellyn Moss (Josh Brolin) stumbles across the aftermath of a drug deal gone wrong. Amid the bloodied crime scene, he finds a pickup truck loaded with heroin and two million dollars in cash, but when he flees with the money he sets off a chain of unremitting violence that not even the law, represented by disillusioned Sherriff Bell (Tommy Lee-Jones), can bring to an end.
Before long, hunter Moss has become the hunted, pursued from both sides of the law. Scrambling to hang on to his money and his life, he is relentlessly stalked by emotionless killing machine Anton Chigurh, brilliantly portrayed by Javier Bardem, Best Supporting Actor BAFTA and Academy Award winner, who is intent on recovering the loot at any cost. This gritty game of cat and mouse will take you to the edge of your seat and beyond – right up to its heart stopping final moment.
No Country for Old Men is Joel and Ethan Coen’s most gripping and accomplished film to date which also won them this year’s Best Director BAFTA. Accordingly, the bonus features for the DVD include a look at the Coen Brothers’ filmmaking process, showing how they assembled and shot one of the most compelling thrillers of the year, as well as shedding new light on the complex characters and celebrated creators of the film.
To be in with a chance of winning, simply answer the following question:
Name one of the stars of the movie?
Answer: Tommy Lee-Jones , Josh Brolin , Kelly MacDonald Or Javier Bardem
Good Luck
