I'm not sure if this is any help to all you experts, but i found out something useful ths week.
My mum has a huge discovery apple tree, which provides the most delicious apples, the best i've ever had. anyway, unfortunatly discoveries don't keep for long, so we generally eat as many as we can, and cook a lot of them and freeze them for apple crumble all year long.
however, i've now got a penchant for smoothies, and decided to try and freeze them raw.
anyway, i was very supprised to find it worked. i froze them in lots of 3 or4, peeled and chopped, then added them straight to smoothies, and they were lovely. I'm so chuffed that they don't have to go to waste.
I just wish I had a bigger freezer to take all the rasberries, blackberries and apples!
(they're also good frozen with some apple juice round, makes the smoothy really nice and cold)
